FRENCH Miniature Wooden Box ''agrafes couturières pour jupes et''

These are so cute and functional.  Our first replication of wooden storage boxes inspired by those delivered to haberdashery stores when thimbles were ordered by the gross, then boxes for thread cards, similar to the carton ones used in the past. They were followed by miniature boxes, used for buttons, pins and needles, hooks and eyes… Le Bon Marche in Paris had an exceptional haberdashery department and sold many articles in beautiful wooden boxes.

This model is decorated with a yellow label marked "À l'Étoile - Agrafes Couturière". (The Star - Dressmaking Hooks).  Miniature box inspired by those found in the catalogues "Nouveautés et autres Articles de Paris".

The inside of the lid is decorated with the same label, two brass hinges and a brass clasp compliment the outside.   Collection consists of 6 different models.

THESE ARE MINIATURE BOXES – 2-3/4” - wide, 2” - deep, 3/4” High.
